Intern Responsibilities:
The intern, after attending an overview at DePaul University Art Museum (which has a large Polish poster collection from the 1950’s) would prepare a report as to the organizational state of the PMA collection. The goal is to meet best practices standards as laid out in the “New Museum Registration Methods”.
The intern would make corrections and integrate any new posters into the collection.
In addition to integrating the collection, the intern would take photo/scans of new additions.
Currently the PMA is open during four days a week, closed on Wednesday.
While we are an ethnic institution, knowledge of Polish is not necessary.
Staff are bi-lingual and would help the intern in translating matters.
Intern Job skills needed.
Basic Computer skills to include e-mail and some form of spreadsheet applications.
Writing skills to write clearly to answer written inquiries and initiate correspondence.
Speaking skills for daily interaction with staff and to prepare the final project briefing.
Photo skills to include photo taking and editing for the project.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.
INTERNSHIP DURATION:
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
