Intern Responsibilities:

  • The Family & Teen Programs Intern will create self-guided gallery materials for families.

  • The intern will work with the Director of Family & Teen Programs to research precedents, develop prototypes, plan and implement user testing. Design the physical materials.

  • They will also consider communication and evaluation plans for the piece they create.

  • They will learn about creating developmentally appropriate educational experiences for kids in informal learning environments.

  • Process of adapting theoretical approaches to the specific realities of the RISD Museum and its audiences. 

Qualifications:

  • Creative and open to feedback.

  • Experience working with young people.

  • Interest in engaging in an iterative process.  

Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.

Interns must be available for the duration of the program.

INTERNSHIP DURATION:

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28 

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.
