Intern Responsibilities:
The Family & Teen Programs Intern will create self-guided gallery materials for families.
The intern will work with the Director of Family & Teen Programs to research precedents, develop prototypes, plan and implement user testing. Design the physical materials.
They will also consider communication and evaluation plans for the piece they create.
They will learn about creating developmentally appropriate educational experiences for kids in informal learning environments.
Process of adapting theoretical approaches to the specific realities of the RISD Museum and its audiences.
Qualifications:
Creative and open to feedback.
Experience working with young people.
Interest in engaging in an iterative process.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.
INTERNSHIP DURATION:
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
