Intern Responsibilities:

The intern will help Madison Square Park Conservancy’s Marketing team showcase summer programming and events on our website and social media. Interns will be asked to photograph and record general operations, art installations, programs and events.

  • Then the intern will be responsible for creating social media posts and other digital features.

  • Other tasks will include community outreach and organizing the Conservancy’s photo bank.

  • Interns will have an opportunity to make suggestions for improving marketing efforts.

  • Interns will practice leading meetings, proper email etiquette, and use of Google Calendar and other Google Suite features.

  • They will also be asked to use the Canva and Canto platforms.

This is a great opportunity for them to immerse themselves in an exciting public art scene and thriving ecosystem in the heart of New York City.

  • This intern will need to have a strong interest in digital media and museums.

  • They should be detail oriented and love building things from scratch, problem-solving, and curious about learning more.

  • They should have strong writing skills and an interest in art.

  • Experience with image-editing, audio editing, and related skills a plus, but not required.

Intern Qualifications:

  • The intern should be interested in topics related to art, horticulture and sustainability.

  • They should practice time management, data collection, photography and graphic

  • design. The intern should feel comfortable approaching and speaking with park visitors and presenting to the Conservancy’s team members.

  • They should expect to be in the office Tuesday-Thursday from times between 9 AM-5 PM with flexibility on Mondays.

  • All interns are given a 1-hour lunch break while working from the office.

Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.

Interns must be available for the duration of the program.

INTERNSHIP DURATION:

  • Total Weeks: 9 weeks

  • Work Hours per Week: 28 

  • Total Hours: 252

  • Workdays: 4 days per week onsite

PROGRAM DAY:

  • On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.

  • These hours are separate from the internship hours.
