Intern Responsibilities:
The Education Intern, Family and Teen Programs will work closely with ICA education staff on the research, implementation, and evaluation of programs and resources for a range of learners, with a specific focus on family and teen audiences.
Throughout the summer, the Intern will assist with public studio programming; events for teens and families, such as Teen Night, Play Date, and Watershed Block Parties; gallery resources for families; and other community outreach initiatives.
The Intern will also conduct an assessment of the ICA’s current gallery resources for families, offer recommendations, and develop their own gallery resource guide for family audiences as one of their major projects.
Over the course of the internship, the Intern will gain experience and understanding in program development, facilitation, and evaluation with a range of audiences.
The intern should have the following qualifications:
Studying studio art, arts education, and/or a related course of study;
Knowledge of contemporary art, a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated interest working with family and teen audiences.
Experience or demonstrated interest facilitating studio-based workshops in visual arts to multigenerational audiences
Knowledge of studio art media, materials, and processes
Strong organizational skills; penchant for maintaining well-organized studio spaces
Ability to solve problems with creativity and care; Experience in customer service
Ability to work independently to meet deadlines, as well as on a collaborative team
Spanish language fluency, a plus
Must have Saturday availability
Must pass a CORI screening.
This internship will be 28hours/week and will hold a Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday schedule.
This internship will be in-person, on-site at the ICA.
Occasional visits to community organizations with staff may occur.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.

Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
