This year marks Gallery Aferro’s 20th anniversary, and as a part of our year-long celebration, we have a host of ongoing projects that we believe a motivated intern could prove quite helpful in moving forward.

One of those projects is helping us migrate to a new website platform as we attempt to launch a new, more secure website for our organization that will grow with us as we continue to transform and develop our space and place within the community.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • In addition to the curatorial tasks of helping our team manage the day-to-day proceedings at the gallery as we prepare to launch and promote our major summer exhibition in late June.

  • We would have the Arts Intern set up a temporary archive in DropBox.

  • Copy all of our website content from its current location, then place it in both a screenshot/PDF format and a Word document format in the temporary archive until it is ready to be transferred to the newly designed layouts on the new web platform.

  • The Arts Intern learn the importance of flexibility and prioritization.

  • The Arts Intern will take advantage of the time in between curatorial and general arts administration tasks common in most nonprofit arts organizations.

  • The Arts Intern will also learn how to manage a highly detail-oriented project like website migration with patience and focus.

  • Basic working knowledge of Mac computers (or willingness to learn).

  • Professional phone and email manners.
