This year marks Gallery Aferro’s 20th anniversary, and as a part of our year-long celebration, we have a host of ongoing projects that we believe a motivated intern could prove quite helpful in moving forward.
One of those projects is helping us migrate to a new website platform as we attempt to launch a new, more secure website for our organization that will grow with us as we continue to transform and develop our space and place within the community.
Intern Responsibilities:
In addition to the curatorial tasks of helping our team manage the day-to-day proceedings at the gallery as we prepare to launch and promote our major summer exhibition in late June.
We would have the Arts Intern set up a temporary archive in DropBox.
Copy all of our website content from its current location, then place it in both a screenshot/PDF format and a Word document format in the temporary archive until it is ready to be transferred to the newly designed layouts on the new web platform.
The Arts Intern learn the importance of flexibility and prioritization.
The Arts Intern will take advantage of the time in between curatorial and general arts administration tasks common in most nonprofit arts organizations.
The Arts Intern will also learn how to manage a highly detail-oriented project like website migration with patience and focus.

This project is best suited for a student with an appreciation for digital archiving, organization, and project management.

Professional phone and email manners.
