The intern will gain hands-on experience in creating and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy for a large-scale event. They will learn about the importance of branding, messaging, and audience targeting in marketing campaigns. The intern will also gain valuable experience in project management and working with a team to achieve shared goals.
Intern Responsibilities:
The Marketing/Content Creator Intern will be responsible for assisting the Director of Communications create a multi-pronged marketing schedule/campaign for DESTINOS: Chicago International Latino Theater Festival.
This will include creating engaging content for social media platforms, writing press releases and creating marketing materials, and designing
promotional campaigns.
The intern will work closely with the festival organizers and other marketing team members to ensure that the marketing strategy is in line with the festival's goals and objectives.
Develop and execute a social media strategy to promote all festival productions, including creating content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
Create promotional campaigns to attract potential festival attendees, such as giveaways or special discounts.
Assist in managing the festival's website, including updating event information and optimizing content for SEO.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Experience with social media platforms and content creation.
Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and experience using design software.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics.
Spanish Fluency.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.
INTERNSHIP DURATION:
Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
BEFORE APPLYING, VERIFY YOU:
1) Will be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student. You must be a rising Junior or Senior as of June 2023.
2) Reside or attend college/university in the city of Chicago.
