The intern will gain the experience of being an important member of a community centered arts organization. S/He/They will be immersed in Art House’s history and mission and gain practical knowledge on operations and mission fulfillment. S/He/They will have the opportunity to interact and build relationships with Art House community members. They will also gain valuable experience with developing the details and format for the presentation of an organization’s mission, goals, and successes. The art/design piece that results will play a significant role in Art House visibility and future. The Intern will have successfully completed a complex project that they can showcase.
Intern Responsibilities:
The intern will develop, design, and execute a multi-page document that can be utilized as printed media as well as in digital form at with the specific purpose of showcasing Art House history and accomplishments through images and text.
The intern will research and choose photographic documentation of Art House’s various programs and events, artwork created by participants/students, and the Art House campus.
S/He/They will also include anecdotal stories from teaching artists, participants, and observers.
Art House, Inc./A Look Inside Project:
Art, Programs, Stories may also include other illustrations such as maps, charts, graphs, and design elements that the intern may create to unify the pages and give the document a particular feel. If time and skills allow, the intern might also develop a short video version.
Intern Requirements:
The print/digital document will take 28 hours per week.
The Intern must be dependable, flexible and have an independent work ethic.
S/he/They should be familiar with art, design history, and current trends.
The intern should be comfortable with creative writing that catches audience attention.
H/she/They should have strong organizational, written and interpersonal skills.
Must absolutely have a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Also helpful is access to a laptop/tablet device.
Reliable source of transportation, but we are easily accessible by public transportation.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.

Total Weeks: 9 weeks
Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
