Intern Responsibilities:
The Intern will engage in a number of tasks:
Write articles for newsletters, reels, etc.
Engage in research, seeking opportunities to write and submit articles about ACCA Creates to various media outlets and professional arts organizations, including op-ed articles.
Write letters to city, county, state, federal government officials promoting arts education in schools and outside of the regular academic school day.
Conduct interviews that may accompany media projects, excerpts of which may be included in letters, and articles.
Media-
In June, attend Saturday morning meetings 9-11am, during which time, we will work on media projects for the ACCA Creates Website, Facebook, and Instagram. There the Intern will meet a team of volunteers and workers for ACCA Creates and Keys2Success, via Keys. These meetings will help to prepare the Intern for Summer Arts, a seven-week arts intensive that includes a one-week Dance Intensive (13-18yrs), and a six-week Summer Arts Camp (6-16yrs).
Take photographs and videos of ACCA Creates Summer Arts Dance Intensive, and the Summer Arts Dance Camp.
Prep media for the year for Facebook and Instagram. Create reels.
Write short statements to accompany the photos and reels.
Qualifications:
The Intern will need the following skills:
Excellent communications skills
A love for people and a love for the arts
Honesty from the heart that exudes a respect for all humanity.
Refrains from judgmental behaviors and words. Children know when we are lying wither by omission or commission.
A people person, who works well with supervisors, peers, teens and children, our clients.
Excellent/Strong commitment to communities of color that experience extreme disparities: food deserts, violence, lack of access to the arts, due to COVID a tremendous dip in academic skills. While not focused on academics, ACCA Creates Summer Arts Day Camp in particular is a tremendous support to an improved quality of academic knowledge acquisition and skills.
Strong Writing Skills including editing.
Knowledge in the areas of Media.
Knowledge in the areas of media tools i.e. Canva, Podcasts, Google Workspace incl. Google Sheets.
Interns will work onsite 28 hours per week and attend a mandatory offsite program day one day per week with their cohort.
Interns must be available for the duration of the program.

Work Hours per Week: 28
Total Hours: 252
Workdays: 4 days per week onsite
PROGRAM DAY:
On the 5th day of each week, interns will attend an offsite program day with their cohort.
These hours are separate from the internship hours.
